It has almost been a month since Haiti and Chile got very devastated by earthquakes. It was one of the most destructive tragedies in the history. After that, a lot of countries around the world were also experiencing strong earthquakes even here in the Philippines. Just recently, we have experienced a 6.0 magnitude but still we were very thankful that no casualties were reported.
Earthquakes are really dangerous especially the strong ones. That is why we have to be aware of the dos and don’ts when there is an earthquake. First things first!! Don’t panic, panic can’t make you think properly, instead we should be alert. When the earthquake is really strong, think about you and your family’s safety. When you are in the middle of your travel by land, immediately stop your car to avoid accident and go to find a safe place. Don’t go near buildings because it may crash on you. When you are inside the house, find a strong table that can protect you when the ceiling crashes and make sure to protect your head with your arms. Aside from the safety precautions, we should also be ready to any natural calamities. Make sure to organize your important papers, stock emergency foods, medicines and water just in case you’ll get trap inside your house.
We should not wait for calamities to come before we prepare, we should always think of our safety above all. And most importantly, we should not forget to pray for us to be safe and save.
